Siberian Husky Puppies For Sale
Nicknames: Sibes, Huskies
Siberian Huskies are a favorite of many due to their
wolf-like appearance. They have thick coats, pointed ears, and similar markings
to that of a wolf, especially around the eyes. Huskies can be black, red, and
grey with white markings or pure white.
Bred for dog sledding and heavy work, Huskies are medium to large
size (35 to 60 lbs), sturdy, and very strong. A pet
only Husky (non-sled dog) will need plenty of exercise. A yard is recommended.
They can be a great jogging partner.
Since they were bred for cold climates, their coat can
withstand intense winter weather. It is recommended to have the breed stripped
of coat before the summer to reduce risk of overheating. Also, Huskies shed
constantly, but have two heavy sheds a year. Shaving during this time will
reduce the unwanted hair around the house.
Huskies can be loving and kind, but also independent and devious.
A strong trainer is needed to keep the animals devious tendencies in check. They
become bored easily and often will howl for entertainment. Keeping the animal occupied
and well exercised will help prevent this. They are good with children and enjoy the
energy, activities, and attention that children provide them.
The average life of a Husky is about 12 years.
