West Highland White Terrier Puppies For Sale  (Westies)

The West Highland White Terrier may be better known by their nickname, Westie. The breed originated in Scotland during the 19th century when a Cairn Terrier whelped white puppies. Through selective breeding, the West Highland White Terrier was developed. Today, Westies are distinctly their own breed. High in energy and spunk, the breed is enjoyable and lovable. They adore their owners and companionship the relationship provides. They are easy to train and good with considerate children. Like most terriers, dominance should be placed over the dog; failure to do so may create training and behavior problems.

The coarse hair is fairly easy to maintain. Regular brushing will help keep the animal clean. Trimming and stripping of the coat will be needed. Bath them only when necessary.  Westies are considered hypoallergenic; they have little to no shedding.

Westies are okay with apartment living. Because they are active indoors, only short walks are needed.

The life expectancy for this breed is about 12 to 15 years.
