Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies for sale

The only significant difference between the Miniature Australian Shepherd and the Australian Shepherd is the size.  The miniatures are about 20 pounds lighter, ranging from 20 to 40 pounds full-grown. 

Known for their intelligence and ability to learn, this breed is outstanding at herding and obedience training.  Mini Aussies need regular exercise and mental stimulation. Daily long walks and regular training sessions are needed. Without the proper stimulation, an Aussie can become bored and mischievous.

It is best to have a job for the dog to perform. For example, great jobs can be tending to the children or chasing squirrels from the yard. Aussies are excellent with active children and will make it their personal obligation to protect and watch over them as they would a flock of sheep.However, it is important to teach the breed that herding humans is not acceptable.

Mini Aussies are okay in apartments providing that sufficient exercise is given.  Their coat is medium length and requires little grooming.  Baths should be given as needed and brushing should be done on a regular basis.  Mini Aussie coats have white markings in any of the following colors; blue or red merle, red, black, or tri (black,tan &white).  Their average life span is between 10 to 12 years.  MiniAussies make great pets for active families looking for a medium sized dog.
