Because the Bichon Frise coat is non-shedding, it will grow very long, as can be seen in the dog shows.  A Bichon kept in full coat will require daily coat care.  However, most Bichon owners keep the coat shorter, in a "puppy cut," or even shorter.  When kept in a shorter coat, the grooming required for a Bichon is only average, although monthly trimming is then required.
