The Goldendoodle is a designer hybrid between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle. They are affectionate and patient making them a wonderful dog for families with children. Goldendoodles are highly intelligent and usually eager to please making them easy to train. Goldendoodles require daily exercise. They are known for their love of water so they'd be a great fit for an active outdoor family. They are known as non to light shedders, making them a good match for people with allergies, but require regular grooming if the coat is kept long.
Goldendoodle Standards are the result of a Golden Retriever and a standard poodle where Goldendoodle Miniatures are the result of a Golden Retriever and a Miniature or Toy Poodle. Usually, one parent is a Golden Retriever and one is a Poodle. That is what is known as a First Generation Goldendoodle. The result of this cross is a dog with a soft and low-shedding coat. Occasionally, some of the Goldendoodles we have are F1B's. An F1B Goldendoodle is from a first generation Goldendoodle mating with a Poodle. The result is a pup which is ¾ Poodle and ¼ Golden. F1B Goldendoodles have even softer non-shedding coats. Unless noted, the puppies below are first generation Goldendoodles.
Goldendoodles have an average life span of 10 to 15 years. They stand 13-24 inches tall and are 20-35lbs (miniature) and 45-90lbs (standard) as an adult.
