Small in size, but not in spirit, the Miniature Schnauzers
grow to be 14 to 17 pounds as adults. For
good reasons, they are among the most popular family dogs. Their cheerful and
playful personalities will keep each member of the family entertained. Whether
playing outside with the children or keeping an adult company while they sit,
the schnauzer loves it all.
Although they are members of Terrier group, they do not have
the same cheeky terrier temperament. They get along with both children and other
animals very well. They do, however, share the non-shedding and
hypo-allergenic coat that so many terrier breeds have. Schnauzers are usually
kept in a coat that requires clipping on the back. Regular grooming is needed, but is not
extensive.
Schnauzers can adapt well to apartment living. Regular short
walks are necessary for animal to be happy and healthy.
